This first inquiry was a bit of a challenge. Due to my perfectionism, the time constraints made it much harder for me to complete the project. I decided to create packaging from our 5-dollar toy project, leaning into the aspects of my materials: plumbing-related items. I decided to call my toy "Pocket Plumbers Checkers". I used a small white porcelain tile for the chessboard and drew a grid on it for the squares. Next, I decided to use washers as my pieces. I painted them red and black to match the traditional colors of checkers. For the packaging, I wanted to give it a vintage look. I referenced a few old game designs and created my box packaging. I made the logo feature a plumber's wrench and the words Plumber's checkers. I am pleased with how the design turned out, although if I had more time my physical mockup would have been more to my liking.  After that project I had a strong desire to continue with branding and packaging, so when I listened to the 99% Invisible podcast I got even more insight. The idea of taking a product and connecting it to a political or social issue gives it more traction to gain popularity and become successful. I am definitely going to be bringing this into my next inquiry
